Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning: What's the Difference?

Regular cleaning maintains a home that is already at a clean baseline. Deep cleaning resets a home to that baseline. Both matter — but they are not interchangeable, and booking the wrong one is the most common mistake we see from new clients.
A regular clean covers the visible, high-traffic surfaces: kitchen counters and appliance exteriors, bathrooms (toilets, tubs, sinks, mirrors), dusting reachable surfaces, vacuuming, mopping, and trash. It's built for speed and consistency on an already-tidy home.
A deep clean adds all the detail work a regular clean skips: baseboards, blinds, light fixtures, vents, door frames, switch plates, inside microwave, inside oven (add-on), grout scrubbing, cabinet fronts, and hand-wiping every reachable surface top to bottom.
Most Ultra Cleaning clients start with a one-time deep clean, then transition to weekly, biweekly, or monthly regular cleanings. That first deep clean is the investment; the recurring rate is what you actually pay long term.
Rule of thumb: if it has been more than 4–6 months since a professional cleaning, start with a deep clean. If you're moving in, moving out, listing a home, or hosting family for the holidays — deep clean. Otherwise, regular cleaning is the right call.
